Review: 40206 Santa

Hello! I haven’t been posting for a very long time, and I thought I would post this review just before Christmas! This is my first ever set review, so I hope you enjoy it. As we near Christmas, with Christmas Eve being tomorrow (yay!), today’s review is about the latest seasonal build: 40206 Santa! This set costs £8.49 in the UK, $9.99 in the US and $11.99 in Canada. It is a Lego Store exclusive, along with the other seasonal sets this year.

Consisting of 155 pieces, he has a jolly expression and a funny little moustache made with two white quill feather pieces, which is a very cool technique! His mouth is smiling and is made using two 1 x 1 tan slopes and red and white bricks behind make it look like it has teeth and a tongue. He has a rounded tan nose that is quite large, with a 1 x 2 base. He has the 1 x 1 smooth, printed eye pieces on either side, and normal 1 x 1 tan round piece for each ear. The hat is smooth and is rounded with a white 2 x 2 to represent the bobble on his hat. Using smooth pieces, the chair has curved, smooth arms and is dark green. Brown 1 x 1 pieces are used to make the legs of the chair. He has a smooth red belly and black belt with a golden buckle. White 1 x 2 pieces with trims are used to represent the fur on his outfit. He has hands that can hold items as they have little clips. The only disappointment is how small the arms are and the use of pieces for them. The ball joints are once again grey, and the arms are really thin. However, the thin arms do look welcoming, although it would have been cool to be able to sit a child mini figure on his lap.

Overall, I think this set is well worth the money at only £8.49, it is a quick build and a fabulous little decoration for Christmas. Compared to the other seasonal sets, this has been one of the best by far. The build is solid and only the arms are moveable.
I’m sorry this is such a short review, but it’s quite a small set and I hope you enjoyed it.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
